I am an Episcopal priest, historian of religion, biblical scholar, and theologian. I am keenly interested in religious practices of cultural formation, especially in apocalyptic, aesthetic, and ascetical traditions of ancient Judaism and early Christianity. My first book, The Book of Revelation and the Visual Culture of Asia Minor: A Concurrence of Images, is available from Lexington Books/Fortress Academic, an imprint of Rowman & Littlefield. You can also find it on Amazon or Bookshop. I am currently working on projects treating ancient Encratites, and a fuller project on apocalyptic aesthetics, provisionally titled, Comfort Me, Fury.
Currently I serve as the Rector of St. Mary's In-The-Hills in Lake Orion, Michigan, and I teach in the field of Religious Studies at Oakland University and the University of Detroit Mercy, and in New Testament Studies at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. |
