The Rev. Dr. Andrew Guffey (Ph.D. 2014, The University of Virginia) serves as the tenth Rector of St. Mary's In-The-Hills Episcopal Church, in Lake Orion, Michigan. Insightful, funny, and warm, Dr. Guffey is a dedicated teacher and priest. His scholarship is wide-ranging, integrating insights from biblical, historical, cultural, philosophical, and theological fields. He teaches broadly in the field of Religious Studies at the University of Detroit Mercy and at Oakland University, having previously taught in a variety of institutions of higher and theological education. He is the author of peer-reviewed articles on ancient Judaism, the New Testament, and early Christian asceticism, and his first book, The Book of Revelation and the Visual Culture of Asia Minor, has received critical scholarly attention and acclaim.
